Collaborating Across Borders VI (CAB VI) is a joint conference linking Canada and the United States on issues related to interprofessional education (IPE) and interprofessional collaborative practice (IPCP). CAB VI continues the tradition of focusing on advances in interprofessional education, leadership, research, practice, and policy in North America and includes presentations relevant for all audiences.

Abstracts should represent research and/or demonstrations to advance the fields of interprofessional education (IPE) and collaborative practice and collaborative practice and be consistent with the overarching conference theme of Exploring New Heights.

We welcome submissions from all levels and types of learners and practitioners, researchers and policy makers, patients, family members, and community representatives; and we welcome abstracts relating to work encompassing one or more of those categories; education, leadership, practice, and policy.

Learn what makes ECHA a green building with new signs

You may have noticed new "green building" signs around ECHA in past months. A large display has been installed in the north-east entrance (near Starbucks) and smaller, feature-specific signs are now all throughout the building.

The display explains how ECHA was designed with sustainability in mind right from the start. It is home to some of the impressive awards and certifications ECHA has received and showcases some of the sustainability features that earned those awards.

In staff areas and throughout the main streets you will find signs and stickers highlighting specific sustainability features close by. The messages on these signs are action-oriented, including helpful tips on how to help keep ECHA's sustainability performance high.

To learn more about ECHA's sustainability features, try to find every feature sign (there are sixteen), and then download the ECHA feature sheet from the university's Green Building Library.

The first dental clinic with only seven chairs

The School of Dentistry has deep roots

The School of Dentistry officially kicked-off their centennial celebrations, Jan. 18.

It's official. The School of Dentistry is 100 years-old. The School came to be at a time when Canada was in the middle of the greatest conflict the world had seen-World War 1, and was the only dental school in Western Canada until the founding of the dental school at the University of Manitoba in 1957. The first dental clinics had only seven chairs!

Over the years, dentistry has proven to be vital to the health of its communities through programs like the Satellite Clinics, Glenrose Rehabilitation Dental Clinic, Boyle McCauley Health Centre/SHINE Clinic, the Long Term Care Community Assessment and Treatment Program, and, last but not least, the main dentistry clinic on campus, which last year saw just over 40,000 patients.
