SHREVEPORT, La. - Newly sworn in U.S. Rep. Mike Johnson (R-Bossier City) and Louisiana State Rep. Katrina Jackson (D-Monroe) will be featured speakers at Saturday's Louisiana Life March North in Shreveport-Bossier.
The Life March North is the second of three similar events being held across Louisiana on three consecutive weekends. Thousands of area residents are expected to attend Saturday's event that includes a pro-life march from Bossier City's Boardwalk, across the Texas Street Bridge to Shreveport's Festival Plaza, where a program of prayers, speakers and music will be held.
The Life March will begin at 10 a.m. Participants will gather a few minutes before 10, then proceed to the bridge.
A life ministry mobilization area at the plaza will be manned by area pregnancy centers and organizations, and participants can visit the tables before or after the program. Others scheduled to participate in the program include James McMenis, Leslie Duke, Greg and Kim Banks, Pastor Brad Jurkovich and Ryan Verret with Louisiana Right to Life. Word of God Church and Cypress Baptist Church will provide music.
