The CVMC gift
Catawba Valley Medical Center pledged $200,000 to Catawba Valley Habitat for Humanity's capital campaign, Habitat Repairs.

The donation is in honor of Charles Dixon, a longtime community philanthropist, according to a press release. Dixon served as chief counsel for CVMC from the 1960's until 2009.

Villanova Students Gear Up for Service
Sixteen of Villanova University's freshmen are heading to Catawba County next month to serve with Habitat for Humanity of Catawba Valley.

The students will be traveling from Villanova, PA to Hickory, NC to work on new home construction in the Northstone Subdivision as well as our Habitat Repairs! projects from March 4 through 11.
Opportunity and Self-Reliance
While you might think that the majority of Americans feel stable and secure in their current situation, housing insecurity touches nearly half of adults at some point in their lives.  Frequent moves, overcrowding and the threat of eviction or foreclosure creates stress, depression and hopelessness for far too many families.

Sometimes a helping hand is all they need to build a better life
A Message From Our Executive Director
Two Habitat for Humanity families are working hard toward the completion of their homes in the affiliate's Northstone neighborhood.

They've completed most of their sweat equity hours, have paid their down payments and attended homeownership preparation classes. The only thing standing in the way is the funding needed to complete their homes.
Dear Habitat...
Here are some thank you letters and other words from our families:

"I would like to say thank you from the bottom of my heart for the repairs that were done to my home.  I am very grateful to you all for taking the time to extend your hard work and talents to beautify my home.

You made this possible.  I pray God blesses Habitat and every volunteer that worked on my home.  I pray Habitat continues to bless other families as you have mine and many others."
