Doctor's Tip for the week

Constipation in Toddlers

Most often, toddler pooping issues are caused by easily solvable problems. Try these remedies.

Toddlers are, by nature, a finicky bunch. Their moods and whims can change on a dime. Even something as basic as going to the bathroom can get tricky.

Parenting Tip for the week

How to Tell if Your Kid is Faking Sickness

Without obvious symptoms, it can be hard to tell whether your child is ill or is trying to skip school.

From a runny nose to belly woes, it can sometimes be tough to tell if your kid is truly stay-at-home sick or feigning illness to get a free pass from class.

News From LTA
View From The Front
Hello Families,

This week some of the classrooms are talking about Zoo Animals. We all love venturing out to the zoo, there are so many different types of animals that we can see and for the most part, it's the closet we can see them in their natural environment. Every child has their favorite animal they love to see at the zoo, we would love if your child brought in a book to share about that animal or they can bring in a stuffed animal on Friday to show to their friends.

Parents, we have had several children out sick this week and as we are doing our part to keep classrooms clean by washing and sanitizing toys and all surfaces, we ask that you also help us in our efforts. Please be mindful of the General Health Policy that is adapted by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the U.S. Public Health Services, and the Department of Health and Human Services. This is not only a policy that LTA implements but it is required by all North Carolina Child Care Centers and is in place to ensure the health of all children in the program as well as the staff. We understand and empathize that you are all working professionals, but we also have guidelines that must adhere to. Our licensing consultant made it very clear to us that if we do not follow these guidelines they could result in written violations.

On an additional note, we are noticing that some children are entering the building with outside food in their hands;  this is also a huge violation. All food or snacks should be finished before entering the building. Lastly, please make sure that you are walking your children to their classroom. No child should be seen walking by themselves in the hallway at any point. Again, our Licensing Consultant has warned us about written violations for these infractions and several violations could result in Administrative Action. If you have any questions, she is more than willing to take any of them at any time.

Thank you all for your understanding and all that you do to help LTA run smoothly!
