Volunteering Makes the Perfect New Years Resolution!

Shopping Assistant   Palatine Township -  A ssist the senior with shopping needs at a minimum of once per week. Our hope is that this program will provide social interaction with someone new and lay the groundwork for a lasting friendship.

Stars and Strips Cafe Kitchen Assistance  Bartlett - Additional hands needed to prepare high quality mealsVolunteers needed Monday- Thursday from 10:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m

Wheelchair assistance volunteer Park Ridge - Enjoy exercise while interacting with patients, volunteers, and learning your way around the hospital! 

Thrift Shop Helpers Des Plaines -  Support our Crisis Nursery by helping in the Des Plaines thrift shop that support families in crisis. 

Pet Therapy in Elgin/Aurora Area  Pet Therapists with certified pets are needed to visit hospice patients in their homes, long term care facilities or at our in-patient unit.

Meals on Wheels Program Drivers Deliver the meals to elderly, frail and disabled shut-ins and the disabled  Wheeling Township  residents. Choose a weekday, Monday through Friday that fits your schedule for 1 to 1 1/2 hours, average route delivers 10 meals a day. Substitute drivers also needed.

Nighthawks Laser Tag  - 1/27/17,  Buffalo Grove
Assist a group of disabled teens as they play laser tag and socialize.

Thursday Night Ladies Night  2/2/17, Riverwoods
Volunteers for our Thursday evening Ladies Night program for the winter session (1/22, 1/26, 2/9, 2/23, 3/9, 3/23). Come and socialize and create happy memories for adults with developmental disabilities! Volunteers assist staff with activities such as painting, learning, and socializing.

Valentine's Day Dance - 2/10/17, Rolling Meadows
Assist as NWSRA hosts a large dance for many participants, who will enjoy dancing, cookies, games and socializing.

Breakfast Brief Presente -Arlington Hts
HandsOn Suburban Chicago Training Center is looking for individuals to present Breakfast Briefs--90 minute information sessions--to our community partner agencies. Please express interest--a request for proposal will be sent to you upon receipt.

Graphic Designer
 - Wheeling Township

Take our idea and create graphics for our upcoming volunteer thank you lunch. Easy, quick project. Person will meet with us once, create several logos and then create final graphic. Volunteer would also get to attend banquet on 4/21/17.

With a minimum of a one year's commitment to the hotline, all Rape Crisis Advocates will be state certified through our FREE 40-hour training and certification course.

Duties include tracking and supervision of tax aide preparers, facilitate resolution of questions, provide point of contact between district coordinators and site volunteers, ensure program rules are followed, mediate issues at the site, and maintain quality control. Tax preparation is not required. Sites operate February 1, 2016 - April 2016. Shifts are 8:30 - 1:00 or 12:00 - 4:00. Train with site coordinator this coming season and then take over in July 2017.

Over 400 sixth through eighth graders created greeting cards with art supplies and added their own personal touches in the form of notes about their holiday traditions and memories...
