Purdue Wine Grape Team Newsletter

Dear Indiana Winemakers

Just a reminder, that next week Wednesday, May 4th, the Purdue Wine Grape Team will hold its Spring Wine Grape Workshop at Holtkamp Winery and Rettig Hill Winery , in southeastern Indiana.

Enology focus is on fining agents, their choice, preparation, and sensory effect on your wine.  We'll discuss the practical application of classic products from bentonite to PVPP, from gelatin to sparkolloid, and taste several treated wines together.

So join us, especially if you are uncertain what to use before bottling your next wine.
And bring along a tank sample if you would like advice on the best treatment.

In the afternoon, our host Jeff Hill will give a tour of his vineyards, followed by tastings of regional Traminette as well as the interspecific red varieties De Chaunac and Villard noir.

Hope to see you soon!
Cheers,
Christian Butzke
Professor of Enology
