Many of you are familiar with the program we have every holiday season where you spend a certain amount and we donate a piece of cheese to Paul's Pantry. The program has grown through the years, with us donating over 500 pieces of cheese last December. Every year, we see our clients working to meet the target amount at checkout, buying something extra just to send cheese to the food bank. Your generosity and thoughtfulness is overwhelming. It has occurred to us, though, that hunger is an ongoing problem in our community. We'd like to do something year round to help those less fortunate. That brings us to Pay It Forward.
Pay It Forward was born after watching a video of coffee shop patrons ordering two coffees to go and two "suspended". The suspended coffees are given to homeless or people in need that ask for them in the shop during the day. We want to do something similar, only with cheese. How does it work? During checkout, just tell us you want to Pay It Forward. For just $5, you can send a half pound piece of cheese to our local food bank. You can also sign your name on a ticket (pictured above) and post it anywhere in the shop you want (or not, you can stay incognito if you wish). Every month we'll send the cheese off to Paul's Pantry. It's that simple. We hope you'll join us in the fight to end hunger in our community. Thanks!
