Guest soloist: Anne Lederman
Join us for the SSO's
'A Celtic Celebration'

The SSO's annual revel with Celtic music brings fiddler and composer Anne Lederman back to Stratford and the SSO for "A Celtic Celebration" on Saturday, January 28, at 7:30 p.m. in Knox Presbyterian Church.

Ms. Lederman last appeared with the SSO in the orchestra's 2010 Celtic concert. The Celtic celebration has become an annual favourite in the SSO's concert schedule.

Known for her work with Canadian and world traditions, especially Aboriginal fiddling, Celtic-Canadian fiddling, klezmer and African music, Ms. Lederman headlines a wide-ranging program featuring The Irish Washerwoman (Leroy Anderson), music from Lord of the Dance (Ronan Hardiman), traditional Celtic tunes, original compositions by Ms. Lederman and her frequent collaborator Ian Bell, and others.

She has performed at festivals, concerts, dances and schools throughout Canada, the U.S. and Europe and was the first Canadian to perform at the Viljandi Traditional Music Festival in Estonia. Known especially for her work with the Aboriginal fiddle traditions of her home province, Manitoba, her recordings have helped make this music known to the world.

Guest conductor will be Daniel Warren.

Tickets are available at Fanfare Books, Blowes Stationery (downtown) and Lyric Flowers (St. Marys), as well as on the SSO website. Tickets are $40 for adults and $10 for students (with a valid ID). Children 12 and under are admitted free.
