For the next few months we'll be introducing our new Zone 1 Committee Members who are already working hard for our zone!
John Manning, Chair
John, of Shelburne Falls, Massachusetts,
is a second generation horseman who has been involved in the sport since he was a child. He is a course designer who recently received his FEI Level 2 certification. As a committee member he wants to promote programs and help zone members advance their knowledge and competitive experience. In his spare time he enjoys fishing, bird watching and traveling. If he could have dinner with one equestrian he would choose Rodney Jenkins.
Fran Dotoli, Vice Chair
Fran, of Chepachet, Rhode Island, has been involved with the sport most of her life, first as a rider, then trainer and now as a judge and a clinician. Her family is also involved in the sport. Fran hopes to help inform membership and assist in enhancing programs as a committee member. She received the President's Distinguished Service Award at the USHJA Annual Meeting this year. In her spare time she enjoys gardening and painting. If she could have dinner with any equestrian she would pick Bert de Nemethy to pick his brain about the sport.
John, of Middletown, Rhode Island, has been involved in the sport for more than 45 years training horses and riders with his wife, Jay Sargent, at Sandy Point Stables. He is an "R" judge, an announcer and is involved with other USHJA committees. As zone treasurer he wants to make sure t
he association is responsive to members. John enjoys hiking, boating and amateur dolphin research in his spare time. If he could have dinner with one equestrian, he would choose Gordon Wright.
