Happy Feast Day of the Immaculate Conception of Mary!
Let Our Blessed Mother, who was conceived without sin, continue to intercede for us to her Son, Jesus Christ!
Our week began with a beautiful prayer service in honor of our patron saint. The school wide assembly included a presentation of a school gift! A replication of the painting “The Miracles of St. Francis Xavier” was presented and explained by Father Williams. Our students were very interested in the rich symbolism and details found within the sacred art, as described by Father during his homily. In addition, thanks to The Captains’ Place, we were also able to “gift” our students with the special treat of enjoying a taste of rice pudding delivered to their classrooms! Father was able to make a connection between the rice pudding and St. Francis Xavier’s evangelization efforts in Asian countries.
Words cannot even begin to describe the unbelievable generosity displayed by our students as we celebrated the Feast of St. Nicholas on Wednesday. While our students entered the school building with great excitement and anticipation for the evidence of St. Nick’s visit, they also arrived with selfless hearts, as they offered the gift of new and gently used toys to children less fortunate than themselves. The number of toys donated is truly overwhelming. Thank you so much for teaching your children that GIVING is more important than RECEIVING! The donated toys will be delivered to Gifts to Give by our 2nd and 3rd graders next week, as they participate in a field trip of service and love! Thank you to St. Nicholas and the School Events Committee for making memories and moments that our school family can be tremendously proud of! Thank you also for your support of our 8
th
grade class and their fundraising efforts! St. Nick’s Workshop was a wonderful opportunity for our students to once again put others first.. your reinforcement of GIVING TO OTHERS is greatly appreciated.
The Christmas spirit will continue as our classes pray for and provide for some very needy St. Vincent dePaul families. Ask your child about the family that has been “adopted” by their class, and let’s plan continuing to make this Advent season a beautifully impactful experience for our kids!
God bless and have a wonderful weekend~
