Mystery cloaks the creative element of putting words on paper. But creativity, I've discovered, is rarely conjured up. And if you wait for creativity to strike, you may never complete a project.

So it came as a relief to me to learn that there is a process you can follow to do the "work" of writing. It's a process that follows practical steps. The steps create a structure and make a big project seem manageable. I can complete one step at a time and then soon, I have completed a project.

Breaking down the writing process into a series of steps has been a BIG help to me. This step-by-step approach works for just about any project.  This step-by-step approach is one way to go about the writing process, but it's not the only way.

If this approach works for you, great! If not, go with another method ...
