anuary 1st began a new NAR Code of Ethics training cycle. The cycle is now two years. Every Realtor® must complete 2.5 hours of Code of Ethics (COE) training between now and December 31, 2018.
Managing Brokers
a new 3 year cycle has just begun which you must complete a Procuring Cause class to maintain your VBR membership.

Nine months ago we converted to the Sentrilock electronic lockbox system. The conversion proceeded much as anticipated. During the first three months we answered a lot of questions and offered extra training. Someplace around September the number of questions dropped off notably. We still offer drop in classes twice a month. Please take advantage of these classes if we may be of assistance. A very small percentage (1.4%) of you have experienced lockboxes failing prematurely. Some lockboxes have presented with dead batteries. SentriLock has issued a firmware upgrade that is supposed to reduce or eliminate premature battery failure. Your lockboxes that are assigned to listings will be updated automatically, over time, as your listings are shown. However, it may take several showings to complete an update. We suggest you manually update your unassigned lockboxes. Instructions here Each update will take 15-20 minutes on a good wifi or cellular connection (yes it uses cellular data so you should try to use wifi). We encourage you to update unassigned lockboxes and swap them out (on listings) as soon as is convenient.

Commission and Division of Real Estate Sunset Update
On Wednesday January 25th, CAR General Counsel, Scott Peterson testified at the pre-hearing on the Division of Real Estate Sunset before the Senate Business, Labor and Technology Committee. This pre-hearing was an opportunity for the committee to hear from the Department of Regulatory Agencies' Policy Analyst and stakeholders on the DORA Sunset Report. Peterson shared CAR's comments on the report, explaining that CAR believes the Division and Commission should be continued and continue to regulate licensees.

Colorado Coating Company "CoCo", owner Tim Dundon is no stranger to painting. Tim moved to the Valley from Buffalo New York in 1994. His intentions were to spread his wings, experience new adventures and meet new people. Tim accomplished all that and more. Having painted for his family's business throughout his high school and college years, the logical step was to carry on the legacy in Eagle County.
