"I'll Be Back"
whispered Ray Lewis to Peyton Manning.
That was a promise he could count on.
Two Great Contenders. One Focus.
I had the good fortune of being in the audience at the SAP for Utilities Conference when Peyton Manning was interviewed on the main stage. When asked about his most formidable competitor Peyton Manning replied "that's easy: Ray Lewis".
Peyton Manning and Ray Lewis are unarguably two of the best players in their positions. Peyton Manning talked about how relentless Ray Lewis was in getting pass the line, sacking quarterbacks and leading the Baltimore Ravens.
After Ray Lewis tackled Peyton Manning, Ray would often lean into Peyton's ear and ominously whisper:
"I'll Be Back".
Peyton shared that Ray Lewis often used Peyton's prone body as a counterweight to scramble to his feet after the tackle was complete.
Peyton Manning went on to talk about the friendship he enjoys with Ray Lewis off the field, their time together in nine Pro Bowl games and the amount of respect they have for each other.
