Morah Mellman's
talmidos experience their learning through skits depicting elements of the
parshiyos. What a wonderful way to bring Torah to life!
SIYUM
The Third Grades recently celebrated a wonderful siyum on Parshas Vayayra, with each class making a beautiful one of their own. Additionally, the Third Grade continues their tradition of mastering the weekly parshiyos and earning the opportunity to purchase great prizes sponsored by our supportive PTA.
AQUARIUM TRIP
Following a key unit studying about oceans and various aquatic life forms, the Fifth Grade went on an exploratory visit to Baltimore's Aquarium. The students had a great time exploring the wonders of Hashem's creation in the depths of the Inner Harbor! Thank you to the PTA for sponsoring our bus transportation.
MALKAS TEHILLIM
Many students continue to finish saying the entire Tehillim. While the project begins in our Second Grade, it is really never too late to celebrate this accomplishment! Girls continue to recite many kapitlach Tehillim on behalf of those in need of a refua shleima (complete recovery) in our community. As part of the Malkas Tehillim program, Mrs. Hochheimer, our Limudei Kodesh Coordinator, organizes creative indoor recess activities for the students to design signs and decorations for distribution in the hospital rooms and homes of the cholim for whom we are davening.
COMING TO AMERICA - FOURTH GRADE
The 4th Grade reading group started their next unit reading all about 'Immigration to America'. Each student chose a country to research and began the unit by taking flight at our own Bais Yaakov International Airport (BYI). The girls passed through intense security and customs as they began to learn more about the immigration process that many went through on Ellis and Paris Islands in the early 1900's.
MISS SNIDER'S CLASS SODA DEBATE
Miss Snider's Fifth Graders put on a fascinating and provocative debate regarding government intervention requiring bottling companies to put warning labels on sodas and sugary drinks. These labels would inform consumers about the drinks' harmful nature. Each side presented evidence supporting their claim, offered and rejected a counterclaim, and had opportunities to sway the voters through impressive and novel displays of support for each side of the argument.
FIFTH GRADE TRIP TO EXHIBIT
Our entire Fifth Grade was hosted by the Bais Yaakov High School students who gave us tours of their beautiful exhibit and prepared an engaging scavenger hunt to help our students get the most out of their time. Thank you to the PTA for sponsoring the buses for this trip!
