PTSA Family Engagement Efforts Recognized at Mayor's Education Summit
Seattle PTSA groups and the Urban Family Engagement Network were recognized at the Mayor's Education Summit for their integral role in helping shape the City's initiative for family-school partnerships.
In the Mayor's report, the National PTA standards for family-school partnership were cited for having an impact on reducing the opportunity gap and promoting family-friendly school environments.
Tax Reminders for IRS 1099-MISC and Sales Tax Remittance
If your PTA hired an independent contractor and paid $600 or more in the calendar year, your PTA is required to file the IRS 1099-Misc form by the
January 31.
File the Sales Tax Remittance Return if your PTA had any taxable type sales totalling less than $28,000 and you owe less than $2,000 retail sales tax. If you are registered with the Department of Revenue, your PTA must file a return even if you did not have business activity.
