GIAVONNA GAW: SERVICE THROUGH DANCE
Freshman Giavonna Gaw, along with her fellow company dance team members from Today's Dance Center in Medford, was invited to represent the United States as an Ambassador to the underprivileged children of Nassau, Bahamas on a recent mission trip. In Nassau, Giavonna performed the bulk of her service at the Ranfurly Home for Children, a safe place for children who have been abused, abandoned or neglected. Giavonna and fellow ambassadors provided dinner for the orphans, presented donations raised by the dance members, distributed goodie bags to the children that were created by the dance team, and practiced dance with the orphans.
Giavonna also attended the "Philly Connection" professional dance workshops with the orphans and participated in the "Love that Child Dance Concert" at the University of the Bahamas, where proceeds benefited the orphanage. Famous artists from the Bahamas and local dancers from Nassau also took part in this event. Giavonna is a current member of the Camden Catholic Dance Team.

ALL PARENTS: TRANSPORTATION FUNDING-PLEASE READ
WE NEED YOUR VOICE!
Problem
1.
Current Catholic school students can only obtain a ride to school for a maximum of $884 per student.
2.
Many bus companies and school districts are unwilling/unable to transport students at the $884 rate.
3.
The ceiling should match cost of living increases, which has not happened since the 2007-2008 school year.
What can you do?
Ask Governor to increase funding for nonpublic school transportation in his Fiscal Year 2017 Budget. If your family has been affected by this problem, or you know of families who have, tell the Governor the details. Even if the bussing problem does not apply to you, but you believe in Catholic education, please contact Governor Christie.
How can you contact Governor Christie?

If your child hasn't had a recent physical, please schedule an appointment. Physical forms are available in the nurse's office and on the school website under "Athletics." The same form is used whether or not your child plays a sport. Please return completed forms as soon as possible. Please call the nurse with any questions.
