Dear School Families,
 
This is a shortened version of News Notes this week due to several groovy and exciting things happening at Saint Michael Catholic School.  Some of the highlights this week include the door decorating contest, the sock throw, and the exciting basketball games each night.
Congratulations to the door contest winners: Mrs. Lind's Preschool class, Mrs. Vochoska's 4th grade class and Mr. Olson's middle school class.  All doors throughout the school were decorated above and beyond. 
We have been very busy registering new families today. In addition, I look forward to joining you Saturday night for The Denim, Disco or Diamonds Ball.  Please watch for an upcoming email regarding how you can bid on silent auction items even if you cannot join us at the ball.

Families, please note that you will soon be asked to complete the steps necessary for updating information and enrolling your child(ren) for the 2017-2018 school year.  Watch for detailed instructions to come your way.  

For families with 3-5 year old children, attending our Faithful Beginnings preschool, this will also be your opportunity to select preferences for days of the week as well as half-day/full-day options.  We look forward to the many familiar faces and new students that will fill our classrooms next year!     

 VIRTUSVIRTUS Training
In response to the Charter for the Protection of Children and Youth, the Archdiocese of Minneapolis and St. Paul requires training sessions for all adult volunteers having contact with children, youth and vulnerable adults. The program specifically addresses how the entire parish and school communities can protect all of God's children from sexual abuse. Along with attending a Virtus session, a background check and code of conduct is required by those 18 and older to volunteer with minors and vulnerable adults. These items can be done online while registering for the Virtus session. Please see Stmichael-pl.org, under the faith formation tab with instructions on how to complete these items. A FREE VIRTUS training is being offered at St. Michael Catholic Church on Sunday, February 26th from 12:30 p.m. - 3:30 p.m. in Archangels Hall. Please register ahead online at www.virtus.org.
