You Received Your TBC Survey Last Friday Now Please Fill It Out ... !
All TBC members should have received our Strategic Planning Survey last Friday, January 27! Each and every question within the survey is important and addresses different aspects of TBC. Please fill it out as soon as your receive it so that your voice will be heard.
If you have not received it yet please contact
Cindy Baulsir, or the Strategic Planning Lead,
Dina Gumins. (Make sure first to double check your Gmail Promotions tab or spam folder.)
After 40 years we continue to evolve as a congregation. We're at a place where we want to think differently/creatively about the future while ensuring the needs of our congregation continue to be met. To that end, we've embarked on a consultant-led strategic planning process. A critical component of this process is to solicit feedback from the congregation.
Please participate to help make TBC the synagogue you would like it to be!

A Pharaoh Who Knew Not Joseph
Rabbi Bearman's Sermon for January 27, 2017
"This week, I had a hard time turning off the news. I was especially troubled by and fixated on the reports that many in our government believe that our country must be protected from those who seek to enter it. I couldn't stop thinking about the people these political leaders wanted to keep out. Every press conference seemed to suggest that these leaders were simply interested in protecting our country from those who would wish to harm us. But, I couldn't find any comments about the other people who would be kept from entering the United States - those who are seeking a place to rebuild, those who wish to ensure the safety of their families, and those who are searching for a different destiny for themselves and their children. What about them?" Read more of the Rabbi's sermon ... |
The Gift of Coping Skills: Helping to Build Your Child's Resiliency Tuesday, February 21, 7:30 pm
Please join us on Tuesday, February 21, at 7:30 pm for a program on "
The Gift of Coping Skills: Helping to Build Your Child's Resiliency (and Restore Your Sanity)"
We all know our children need coping skills when they don't get what they want. This includes anything from not making a team, not getting a good grade, not being invited to a party, not getting to go to a friend's house, to having to deal with limits on their screen time and technology usage. This interactive presentation will use your real-life everyday situations in which coping is NEEDED. You will leave with practical suggestions, skills and possibly a new perspective.

She has 35 years experience working with families and children in school and community settings. She also has a private practice in Redding, CT, providing individual, family, and marital therapy.

Save the Date: Friday February 17 For Our Mishkan T'filah Dedication!
Join us as we dedicate our new copies of
Mishkan T'filah, Friday, February 17, 7:30 pm!
All are invited to attend an especially joyous Shabbat service and festive oneg. During this special service, we will be dedicating one hundred new copies of our prayer book,
Mishkan T'filah. These siddurs were made possible through donations to the
Michael A. Heft Memorial Fund. Michael was a lifelong learner and regularly enjoyed Shabbat services and Saturday morning Torah study with his TBC friends. It is fitting that we honor his memory with these beautiful books. We wish on this night to fill the sanctuary so full that we will need to share prayer books!!
Bonnie, Ethan and Sarah Heft are sponsoring the festive oneg in memory of Michael Heft.

Don't worry, it won't be as long as your Bar or Bat Mitzvah! If it was your parsha, and you want to do it again, this is a great chance for you. If you have never read from the Torah and have always wanted to, please recognize that this is your chance to do so with your community.
