Doctor's Tip for the week

What That Sore Throat Means

Is it allergies, a cold, or strep? We explain how you might be able to tell a cold from infection.

We all know that raw, scratchy feeling in the back of the throat. It could just be dry winter air, seasonal allergies, or a plain old cold.

Parenting Tip for the week

How Much Sleep Does Your Child Need?

Little minds and bodies need sleep to pay attention in school, remember what they learn, and repair muscles. See if your child is getting enough.

It's not just to keep her from getting cranky! Little bodies need slumber to grow and stay healthy. Her muscles, including the heart, repair themselves during sleep.

News From LTA
View From The Front
Hello Families,

Wow, what a change in weather over the weekend!  We hope that you all had a chance to get outside to enjoy it. Love is in the air as the children prepare for Valentine's Day. Some of the classrooms will allow children to exchange cards and candies during this upcoming week. If you decide to bring in candy, please make sure that it is peanut free, so great alternatives to candy are stickers or tattoos. You can also check in with your child's teacher to see what suggest for their age group.

We have put sign-up sheets outside of each classroom door asking parents to come read to their child's classroom during the week of February 27- March 3. This is the week that we honor Dr. Seuss and we encourage parents to pick out your child's, or your, favorite Dr. Seuss book to read to your child's class!

Have a great week!

Program Notes & Reminders
Kidstunes
This program is for infants and younger toddlers.  Update for the week is on the announcement board.

Spanish with Ms Zoila
This week in Spanish the children practiced colores (colors) using animales de la granja (farm animals) and animales del zoológico (zoo animals). They were very interested in this topic as we practiced pronunciation when they each said their favorite animal. We also counted the animales and at the end of class we played a learning game, it consisted of listening to noise each animal made and shout out the answer but in Spanish. They did really good with my help.

Kidokinetics Sports and PE Program
Designed as a comprehensive physical education program for preschoolers, Kidokinetics follows standards set forth by the National Association for Physical Education (NASPE). We are at LTA every Tuesdays taking all age groups 18 months and older. Each week we play a different sport.

Soccer Shots with Coach Cassidy
Brooklyn did an amazing job this week using her listening ears. She also did a great job passing and trapping and has really been mastering our skills!

Tumblin' Tots
