March's Sermon Series
Our sermon series for the month of March is titled
"FAITH FOR TODAY" and will come from
Hebrews 11:8-31. Bring your Bibles each week as we study through these scriptures and are encouraged to live out our faith in the world today.
March 5th - Abraham: The Father of our Faith
March 12th - Passing on a Heritage of Faith
March 19th - The Faith to Say No to the World
March 26th - The Faith to Say Yes to God

As further encouragement, we will be hosting "Secret Church" on Friday, April 21st in our auditorium from 6:00pm -12:30 am...(yes, you read the times correctly.) This won't be for the faint of heart but for those able and interested.
David Platt, IMB President will be our teacher and facilitator during our time and the topic will be: "Scripture and Authority In An Age of Skepticism".
The Bible is the foundation for faith among followers of Christ in churches around the world. Yet many such Christians never think to ask why this is the case. After all . . .
*How did we get this holy book?
*Who decided what would and wouldn't be included in it?
*How do we know it's true? Are there any errors in it?
*Is it necessary? Is it sufficient? Is it authoritative for my life?
*How can I understand it?
During this Secret Church gathering, we will explore answers to critical questions about the Bible in order to discern what place it should (or should not) have in the lives of Christians and the implications those answers have for our lives, our families, and our churches in the culture around us. If you can, I hope that you will be able to join us for this special night.

Heritage Day 2017
Our 3rd annual Heritage Day will be held on April 30, 2017 from 10:30-2:00 pm at Heritage Community Church. This will be a special Sunday service. We will have a time of worship, baptisms, fellowship, followed by an old fashion dinner on the ground. Bring your chair, or blanket, along with your friends and family. If you would like to be baptized on Heritage Day, please email us at [email protected].
HCC will provide BBQ, drinks, cups, plates, eating utensils.
To ensure there is enough food for everyone, we ask you to bring one 9x13 dish for every three people ages 6 and up in your family. (1-2 people=1 dish; 3-6 people= 2 dishes...)

Beyond The Walls
Thank you to all the sponsors and runners/walkers that particip
ated in the LOVE WEEK 5K! It was a great day with 99 walkers/runners registering for this fun morning of exercise and fellowship. The weather was perfect, the people were awesome, and our community is going to benefit enormously from the money raised at this race.
Please also be on the look out for our new publication every other Wednesday called, "Wednesday Wants". This will be published on our Facebook page. It will list two items the pantry is in need of. Donations can be dropped of Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday at Beyond the Walls Food Pantry from 10am-12pm or at the donation collection bins in the child check in area and the lobby of our church house.

Tree House Kids
Can I be the first to say Happy Spring?!
In addition to flowers, green grass, and warmer weather, March in the Treehouse will be about forgiveness and love.
Our Playhouse Kids will be hearing stories from God's Word that teach them to love others the way Jesus loves us. In the Hideout this month we want our kids to not only know about God's forgiveness for each of them but also how they can offer forgiveness to those who have hurt them. LOVE + FORGIVENESS = God's character!!
The next Family Worship in the Worship Center will be Sunday, March 19th. It is always a sweet time for the entire Heritage family to have our elementary kids worshipping with us...complete with Worship Bags.
If you want your child to attend Camp Kidjam this summer from June 25-28, you must register by March 31st. There are still spots available! You may register at http://www.heritagecommunity.org/register and click on the Camp Kidjam box. It will be a summer your child will never forget!!
Remember, parents, that every week matters in the faith of your child. "The best way to shape a child's character and faith is through small, consistent deposits over time". If we can help you build a legacy of faith in your home, the Children's Ministry team would consider it a privilege and a responsibility to do so. We know that training your child to love the Lord their God with all their heart, soul and strength is the most important thing you do as a parent.

"And now, just as you accepted Christ Jesus as your Lord, you must continue to follow him. Let your roots grow down into him, and let your lives be built on him. Then your faith will grow strong in the truth you were taught, and you will overflow with thankfulness." Colossians 2:6-7, NLT.
We began the year with the preaching series
"The Best Year Ever". During this study we learned that our "Best Years" aren't characterized by the good things that happen to us but an inward peace that comes from knowing and trusting in God.
During the series, we challenged our church family to commit and be diligent in spending time in God's word. We laid out a plan to read through the New Testament over 2017 and my prayer is that you are enjoying reading God's word. It is also my prayer that you are having natural conversations with others about God's word and how to apply it to everyday life.
Lastly, be in prayer for our family and 11 others from Heritage that will be traveling to Haiti March 12-19th to work with two orphanages in the city of Gonaives.
We appreciate the privilege of partnering with you and bringing hope to our community through our faith in Jesus. may you be encouraged!!!
