Building Big Dreams
One Person At A Time

Community Vision Launches Community Connections Program
The purpose of Community Connections is to support people with disabilities to get involved in the community and develop meaningful relationships. When supported individuals are asked what they want most in life, two of their top answers are: finding meaningful things to do, and building friendships.
Traditional supports often don't focus on these areas, but we recognize that getting involved in clubs, groups, and activities is key to a person's quality of life. Staff are trained to serve as a bridge between the person and the community, learning how to help individuals share their gifts and develop their interests. Whether it is taking a dance class, getting involved in a meet up group, joining the senior center, or going to the local drum circle, individuals with disabilities and the community both benefit when all are included.
To engage with Community Connections as a participant or a partner, contact Jennifer Knapp, Community Connections Director.
