A Brief Mention About Partnerships

EduPaths.org has partnered with statewide organizations and is working with these groups to develop content that is intended to serve several audiences. Below are the highlights from our current partnerships.

Michigan Department of Civil Rights & Cultural Proficiency/Social Awareness
In November 2016, MDE, the Office of Civil Rights, and EduPaths teamed up to collaborate with cultural/social groups, in order to create online training courses that will empower and equip educators to become proficient with each group. The groups that participated in the two-day training for developing online content included Native Americans, Arab Americans, African Americans, Asian-Pacific Islanders, LGBTQ, People with Disabilities, and Hispanic/Latinos. The training was very informative and we are excited about the potential content from these groups. Future trainings are on the horizon.

Early Literacy Project
EduPaths is producing modules for the Michigan Early Literacy Coaches. Storyboarding and development for the first module occurred in January, with the rest of the modules being developed in February-May 2017. Module topics have been clarified and work has begun.
  • Early Literacy Module 1 - Overview of Essentials and Specialized Literacy Knowledge
  • Early Literacy Module 2 - Adult Learning and Building Relationships
  • Early Literacy Module 3 - Literacy Leadership
  • Early Literacy Module 4 - Coaching Practices
Out-of-School Time (OST)/After-School Partnership
Two courses are already published for OST/After-School staff. These courses are:

In conjunction with the OST/After-School project, EduPaths is working on a series of family engagement modules with the Weikart Center for Youth Program Quality.

Early Childhood/Office of Great Start
A course of standards for early childhood professionals has been published on EduPaths.org:
We are also working with the Office of Great Start at MDE on additional orientation trainings to be housed on EduPaths.org in Spring 2017.

LearningForward Michigan
LearningForward Michigan has partnered with EduPaths to develop courses around LearningForward's Professional Learning Standards that have been adopted by MDE. LearningForward MI is creating content that provides an overview of these standards, and then addresses each standard in greater depth. There will be eight 60-minute courses associated with this series. We are in the preliminary stages of course development, and have some very good content.

LearningForward MI is also facilitating a statewide conversation on Collaborative Inquiry-Based Learning. They have partnered with EduPaths to develop a short module that introduces and explains the WHY, WHAT and HOW of Collaborative Inquiry-Based Learning in the educational setting - both in professional dialogue and in the classroom.

Finally, LearningForward MI will be working with EduPaths to develop a micro-credential system that will award users who participate in their Professional Learning Standards series. Ultimately, we are hopeful that this micro-credential work can serve as a springboard and prototype for micro-credentialing in EduPaths.

remc2017  REMC Device Purchasing Bid

The TRIG Device Purchasing bid will transition to a REMC SAVE bid in April 2017. There will no longer be device incentives, but there will still be some very impressive discounts on devices, which will save you time by taking the bidding process off of your hands as your Board policy allows. Karen Hairston will continue to be the project manager for this activity, so anything you used to ask her about TRIG Device Purchasing, you can now ask her about the REMC Device Purchasing Bid!

Planning for the 2017 REMC Device Purchasing Bid is underway and specific information will be released as it is finalized. For planning purposes, here are some of the important dates for the 2017 REMC Device Purchasing Bid:
  • Local District Device Forecasting:  1/23/2017 - 2/10/2017
  • Vendor Bid Responses Due:  3/10/2017
  • Vendor Bid Evaluation Meeting:  3/21/2017
  • Purchasing Window:  04/19/17 - 9/30/2017
