Let Your Voice be Heard!
It's important to let your elected representatives know which programs and services are important to your family such as Early Intervention, special education, IHSS, the Americans with Disabilities Act, health insurance.   Look up your local representative and how to contact them at

The Research and Training Center on Community Living at the University of Minnesota in collaboration with The Arc has  launched the 2017 Family and Individual Needs for Disability Supports Survey. People aged 18 years or older who provide primary un-paid and frequent support to a person with an intellectual or developmental disability (I/DD) living in the United States and its Territories are invited to provide feedback on their experiences. Take the survey HERE.
Disability Rights California is c ollecting information from families on the ability of regional center clients to obtain therapy services through Medi-Cal or private insurance. To complete a short survey about your child, click  here  (includes information on how to submit your answers).

Network for Parents of African American Children with Disabilities
The African American Developmental Disabilities Parent Advisory Group was founded in 2015 in order to meet the unique needs of parents of African American children with autism and other developmental disabilities.

The group provides advocacy and resources to increase awareness of developmental disabilities at the community level and is open to all. Group meetings are 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. generally the fourth Wednesday of each month at the UC Davis MIND Institute.

Dinner and childcare are provided. Please RSVP to  cjgrevious@ucdavis.edu or 916-703-0403. These meetings are co-sponsored by the UC Davis Center for Excellence in Developmental Disabilities and Warmline Family Resource and Parent Training & Information Center.
