Upcoming Events at Heritage Oak Winery
February and March 2017
Dear Friends,

With lousy weather, playoff football, and sticker shock from all that holiday spending, January can be a slow time for wine sales.  But even though the tasting room is quiet, it isn't slow in the rest of the winery or out in the vineyard where all sorts of things are going on. January is when I rack and blend the 2016 reds and stabilize the whites, and out in the vineyard we have pruning crews at work. 

On top of this, we have had record rainfall last month and currently a lake sits on top of our lower vineyard. The picture here shows a corner of the vineyard with the river water flowing over the levee road. January 2017 will be one for the records.

Just to keep our sanity, we have a few fun things to look forward to. You might enjoy them as well. Wine & Chocolate Weekend is around the corner, February 11 and 12, and tickets are available for that.  As well, the Spring Wine Club Party is not far away. Read on for details and more.

Save the date and join us for our Spring Wine Club Party on March 4th. Festivities will be held behind the winery on the crush pad.  The Bob Stanley Band will be providing the entertainment.   On the menu will be ravioli, sourdough bread and salad.

More information, including details about the available wines, will be headed to club members later this month.

Local birding expert, David Yee, leads our series of monthly birding tours based out of Heritage Oak. Tours last from 3 to 4 hours depending on the season and how many of our fine feathered friends are around.   

All events start and end at the parking lot at Heritage Oak, and will include walks through portions of vineyards, along the Mokelumne River bank and across riparian woodland. The instructional walks are geared toward birding enthusiasts of all levels and interested children are welcomed. Dress appropriately for the weather.

2017 Wine and Chocolate Weekend
Saturday and Sunday, February 11&12, 2017

The 20th Annual Lodi Wine & Chocolate Weekend is the perfect excuse to bring someone special to Lodi Wine Country.  Sip delicious, handcrafted Lodi wines paired with decadent chocolate delights at over 50 Lodi appellation wineries. Tickets are on sale now and include an event wine glass, a BRIX chocolate treat, wine tasting and admission to all participating wineries. Tickets are valid both Saturday and Sunday. The price is $45 for Wine Club Members, $55 Advanced Sales, $65 At-the-door. Designated drivers are complimentary. Heritage Oak Club members wishing to purchase tickets should call me before February 10 if they wish to reserve.
