Powerful Presentations ~ Summer 2017

Back by popular demand! Join us for an experiential and engaging learning opportunity during this three-day workshop!

Have you been asked to talk about your special interests and you cringe inside and think "No, not me"? Have you been asked to lead a meeting or make a presentation to a leadership group at work? Have you ever wished that students were more interested and involved in your classes?  Have you ever wondered whether your students are “getting it”?  Is the thought of speaking in front of a group terrifying?  Do you have limited teaching experience and wonder how you got yourself into this situation?

Powerful Presentations utilizes small group work settings with the immediate, potent feedback of being video recorded. You will have the opportunity to experience presenting content, receiving immediate feedback from peers and observing yourself via take-home video.  This type of learning enables rapid behavioral change.  This technique accompanied by a structured framework of specific tools to utilize in presentations will support your rapid growth in improving the quality of your presentations. 

You will receive valuable tools, information and practice in the following areas: constructing content, creating a set, capturing the learner’s attention, strategies to keep students/participants engaged, varying the stimuli, the importance of the learning environment and the valuable use of questions as well as creating closure.  Let us help you put the pieces together so that you can deliver a powerful presentation!

Powerful Presentations will be held June 26 -28, 2017, at a location to be determined. The workshop will run from 8:00 am – 5:00 pm with hot breakfast served at 7:30; students are expected to attend the entirety of the workshop.  The fee for the workshop is $950 and will cover all supplies, materials and meals. Sign up before June 6th to take advantage of an early bird discounted price of $900! Students who complete all hours of the workshop will be eligible to receive nursing CE credit*.

Powerful Presentation Registration and Financial Policies

Registration is not considered complete until payment is received.  Payment will be due at the time of registration. 

Cancellation

If a participant cancels 30 or more days prior to a workshop, they will receive a 95% refund, less a 5% administration fee.

If a participant cancels 15-29 days prior to the workshop, they will receive a 90% refund, less a 10% administration fee.

If a participant cancels 14 days or less prior to the workshop, all fees are completely non-refundable.

If the Center cancels a workshop all fees will be refunded 100%.

Transferring to the same workshop at a later date:

If a participant gives 30 or more days of advance notice, 100% of the payment will be applied to the next workshop.

If a participant gives 15-29 days of advance notice, 100% of the payment will be applied to the next workshop and the participant will be charged an additional 5% administrative fee.

If a participant gives 14 days or less of advance notice, 100% of the payment will be applied to the next workshop and participant will be charged an additional 10% administrative fee.
