A Win on State Lodging Per Diem Rates!
June 23, 2015

Dear WH&LA Lodging Member:

We are very pleased to share that the State Lodging Per Diem Rate will increase for all parts of the state effective this coming Sunday, June 28, 2015!

WH&LA has been working on this for more than six months with OSER, the state agency responsible for setting the rates, and with leaders and members of the Joint Committee on Employment Relations (JCOER), the Committee responsible for final approval of per diem rates. This afternoon, the JCOER held a public hearing followed by an executive session on the State Lodging Per Diem rate changes proposed by OSER, along with numerous other state employment proposals, and WH&LA was present with written testimony and our registration of support for the per diem rate component. Special thanks go to OSER Director Gregory Gracz, along with Senate President Mary Lazich, Assembly Speaker Robin Vos, Senate Majority Leader Scott Fitzgerald, Assembly Majority Leader Jim Steineke, Sen. Alberta Darling, and Rep. John Nygren for their votes of support.

The new State Lodging Per Diem Rates, effective June 28, 2015, for state employees traveling on state business:

$90 for Milwaukee, Racine, and Waukesha Counties
(currently $80 =  a 12.5% increase!)

$82 for all other Wisconsin Counties
(currently $70 = a 17% increase!)
WH&LA is providing an updated overview on the State Lodging Per Diem Rates, to keep handy at your front desk, as a custom service for WH&LA lodging members only. If you have not yet renewed your membership, due June 30, please do so immediately to continue to receive timely and important news such as this. Thank you as always for your support.
