WCCCVB Board Director Tim Argenti ( top left), Republic Services, emceed the annual  State of the City  luncheon that took place Monday at the Walnut Creek Marriott Hotel.  WCCCVB Chair Linda Rimac Colberg  (center), Colberg & Company, and  Mayor Rich Carlston  (right) addressed the group of nearly 200 community, business, and civic leaders on the many accomplishments achieved last year by working together as organizations and as a collective community. Mayor Carlston gave a new call to action for 2017; hoping to inspire the next generation to "give back" to Walnut Creek. The State of the City Luncheon is presented each year by the  Walnut Creek Chamber of Commerce & Visitors Bureau  in partnership with the  City of Walnut Creek . This year's event was generously supported by  AT&T, F&M Bank and Walnut Creek Marriott Hotel.  Thank you to table sponsors Community Bank of the Bay  and John Muir Health.

Check out the video from Walnut Creek Board Chair Linda Rimac Colberg's presentation at State of the City. It's a brief celebration of the colors, textures and activities of Walnut Creek. Thank you to photographers Rachel Capil, Jim Fidelibus, Mike Kirwan, Stephen Joseph, Cady Marsh, Jenny Cash, Brad Altbaum, and Ice Water & Lemon for sharing their work with us. Click here.

8 Powerful Referral Strategies That Will Double Your Sales

Love them or hate them, referrals are one of the most crucial components of a successful inbound sales strategy. In fact, there's no more reliable way to grow any business than through sourcing referrals -- but only if it's done in a systematic, smart way.  Unfortunately, most salespeople use outdated, hit-or-miss methods to get referrals. It's no wonder that referrals inspire dread -- and procrastination -- for so many.  But referrals don't have to be the bane of your existence. Instead, they can transform your sales for the better. The following eight referral strategies, when implemented systematically as part of your sales approach, can double your sales within one year.
