Community Foundation Seeks Director of Grant Programs
The Community Foundation is hiring a Director of Grant Programs to lead the operational and strategic aspects of our grantmaking. This is a new position intended to provide additional staffing and focus on grants at the Community
Foundation. The Director of Grant Programs will be a member of the leadership team and will report to Karla Twedt-Ball, Senior Vice President, Programs and Community Investment. The complete job description and application information is here, with applications due on February 6, 2017.

Community Foundation Winter Grant Cycle Applications Due February 15
The Greater Cedar Rapids Community Foundation announces its first grant cycle for 2017 for local charitable nonprofits. Applications will be accepted through Wednesday, February 15, 2017, and grants will be awarded to organizations that enhance the quality of lifein Linn County.  The Community Foundation accepts grant applications online at www.gcrcf.org.  More information about funding opportunities, as well as a video tutorial to learn the online application system here. 

Anthem Foundation Grants Due February 24
The Anthem Foundation funds specific public health-related issues that positively affect key health conditions identifies through their  Healthy Generations program. There are two funding options: Anthem Foundation Grants and Community Relations & Sponsorships. More information, including eligibility and how to apply  here.

2017 Nonprofit Summit Organizers Seeking Keynote Speakers
Organizers of the Iowa Nopnrofit Summit are seeking keynote presenters for the 2017 summit scheduled for October 24-25, 2017, in Altoona, Iowa. Speakers who are willing to present one 50- to 60-minute plenary session as well as one, two, or three 75-minute workshop sessions can submit a proposal to be considered by the organizers. Proposals must be submitted by February 1, 2017. Forms and more information here.

Rockwell Collins Volunteer Fair
The Rockwell Collins Women's Forum is hosting a Volunteer Fair on Tuesday, February 14, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Rockwell Collins Rec Center, 400 Collins Road in Cedar Rapids. All area nonprofits are welcome to set-up a booth and introduce Rockwell Collins employees to the exciting ways they can get involved in our community. If you would like a booth at the Volunteer Fair, please email Amber Dietrich at [email protected] by Friday, February 3. Please provide the name of your organization and your contact information.

Advanced Drug Trends Training
Presented by Area Substance Abuse Council

Presenters: Erin Foster, Linn County Prevention Director, ASAC; and Curt Wheeler, ASAC Prevention Specialist.
This course expands upon information in the Basic Emerging Drug Trends Training, and is designed for educators, human service providers, law enforcement, and others with a basic knowledge of heroin, synthetic drugs, marijuana, prescription drugs, and nicotine products. Participants will be able to understand the key changes in drug culture, engage in discussion on how culture can play a role in substance perceptions and use, and identify steps to prevent and address substance abuse in their communities.
Cost: $60, maximum of 80 participants. CEU Credit 6.0 CEUs are pending from the Iowa Board of Certification.
