Seeking Entries in the 3rd Annual Sigma Nu Tau National Student Entrepreneur-of-the-Year Award Competition:  Entry Deadline is 1/15/2015
 
Are you a student running your own business?
  • Do you think you have applied principled entrepreneurship in creating and operating your business venture?
  • Do you believe you have made an impact on the community?
  • Do you want your business to be known nationwide?

Each year, about 3 million students graduate from colleges or universities seeking jobs, and our highly motivated student entrepreneurs really make a difference in the business world!   We want to hear your success story as a young entrepreneur!

 

Who is eligible to enter?

  • All full- or part-time students attending a school with a Sigma Nu Tau Entrepreneurship Honor Society chapter
  • Student entrants must have a business or organization that is currently operational, i.e, a going concern
  • The Sigma Nu Tau faculty advisor should nominate the student entrants (up to 3 nominees from each school, 1 student in each of  3 categories)

Prize $$$ Increased for 2015 Student Entrepreneur-of-the-Year Program!

 

The Sigma Nu Tau board met on October 16, 2014, and voted to increase the prizes for the Sigma Nu Tau National Student Entrepreneur-of-the-Year Awards Program for the 2015 program.. There are three categories that students can enter, and previously the top winner in each category received only a letter and a plaque, and the grand prize winner won $500 and glass award.   For the competition that ends on January 15, 2015, the top winner in each of the three categories will each win $300 and the grand prize winner selected from the top winners in the three categories will win an additional $500 (for a total of $800).

      We hope that all Sigma Nu Tau Faculty Advisors will nominate and encourage their student entrepreneurs to enter this year's Student Entrepreneur-of-the-Year Awards Program!   We also urge all student entrepreneurs to speak with their Sigma Nu Tau faculty advisors about entering the competition.  Every competition you enter and every award you win will build your business acumen, your confidence, and your resum�!

How to Become a Leader, Not a Follower

 

Dreaming big and acting big are two ways that can set you apart from  ordinary managers. Being charismatic and thinking outside the box will gain the respect of your team so that you can lead them to success. 

Tips for being a more compelling leader:

  • Establish clear territories and borders for leaders
  • Set objectives bigger than their own performance
  •  Due dates faster than what is reasonable
  • Stair-stepping their development--Increase capabilities through challenges
