UPS
Conference Calls on U.S.-Mexico Relations

WACA is delighted to present  two conference calls  this week  on the U.S.-Mexico Relations. One call, on Friday at 11:00 AM ET, features former Mexican President Vicente Fox, this program is free and open to anyone in the Council network nationwide. A second opportunity, TODAY at 2:30 PM ET, is a 1918 Society call with former U.S. Ambassador to Mexico James Jones.

Friday, February 3, at 11:00-11:30 AM ET , call with the former President of Mexico Vicente Fox  (2000-2006).

President Fox has been at odds with President Donald Trump since the 2016 campaign trail when candidate Trump announced that he would build a border wall and convince the Mexican government to pay for it. President Fox, in an interview on NBC's Today show earlier this week, said that the nations' relationship is "at the very lowest point since the war [1846-1848] between Mexico and the United States." ( Full bio .)  Jim Falk , President and CEO of the World Affairs Council of Dallas/Fort Worth, will moderate the call.

TODAY, Wednesday, February 1, at 2:30-3:00 PM ET , call with  James R. Jones, former U.S. Ambassador to Mexico and former member of the U.S. House of Representatives.

During his service, Ambassador Jones assisted with the negotiation, passage and implementation of NAFTA; and helped formulate the U.S. government's rescue package for Mexico during the 1994 peso crisis, preventing bankruptcy of the Mexican government. Ambassador Jones is the founder and chairman of ManattJones Global Strategies LLC. He provides strategic guidance to clients interested in investment and development in Mexico, Latin America and Asia. ( Full bio ). Jim Falk, President and CEO of the World Affairs Council of Dallas/Fort Worth, will moderate the call.

1918 Society Members, you are welcome to  invite up to three guests to participate on the call. RSVP by replying to this email or write to Lian Esehaki at  [email protected]
