COLLEGE COUNSELING: 
The last day to sign up for the December 3rd SAT is November 22nd. Please note that a late fee of $28 will be required. 
The last day to sign up for the December 10th ACT is today, November 18th. Please note that a late fee of $25 is required. T hese are the last dates for both tests offered at BRS until the spring dates which are May 6th (SAT) and April 8th (ACT). 

SHOP WITH A BARON: Shop with a Baron (SWAB) was created by members of the Parent Association to give students another opportunity to serve the community by mentoring area children before Christmas. The students raise money to give local children a chance to shop for Christmas presents for their parents so that they can actively participate in the gift giving spirit of the season. To purchase a No Tie Day for your son, or to donate to SWAB, please click  here .
 
GREENE COUNTY WOMEN'S FUND: For the past 39 years, members of the Blue Ridge School Honor Council have collected funds from the student body, faculty and staff to donate to this admirable cause.  "These children are living in such poverty that they would likely not receive any gifts at all were it not for the efforts of the Women's Club," says Mr. Niederberger, who organizes this fundraiser. If you'd like to give so that needy children living near the campus will have a merrier Christmas, please donate online  here
 
THANKSGIVING: The Blue Ridge School community enjoyed a wonderful traditional Thanksgiving dinner on Thursday, November 17. For photos of the evening, click here.
 
NHS: The induction ceremony for The Order of St. George, the Blue Ridge School chapter of the National Honor Society, was held on November 16, 2016, on the DeAngelis Stage. The ceremony recognizes the academic achievements of several extraordinary Blue Ridge School students.

Trimester exams ended this afternoon! Final grades and comments will be posted next week.
 
ATHLETICS:
Barons Football defeated Atlantic Shores 34-15 in the VISAA Div. II Semi-finals on Saturday, November 11. They head to Roanoke tomorrow to compete in the State Championship at North Cross School! Varsity Basketball beat Covenant in a fund-raising scrimmage game on Wedneday, November 16. See Channel 19 and Channel 29's coverage.

Congratulations to our cross country team who finished 14th in the State Championship on Friday! This is the highest finish since 2000. 
 
FIELD TRIPS : On Saturday, November 5, Mr. Mike Burris along with Alex Dillard '19, Aaron O'Donnell '18, Tony Jin '20 and Harry Yu '20 attended an interactive arts workshop titled " Lights, Camera, Chain-re-Action!" at the UVA School of Architecture. The workshop was led by Earl Mark faculty member of the UVA School of Architecture and Zoe Cohen of Light House Studio in Charlottesville. For more on this story, click here
