UW System Travel Program Changes Now Official
September 28, 2015

Dear WH&LA Lodging Member:

The UW System has now gone public with information on its new travel program rate structure and policies going into effect on October 5. While WH&LA's Capitol Insider on September 21 released the preview and outlined some key points, we can now share the official information directly from the UW System:
  • UW System official Announcement and overview are here.
  • A link to the internal UW System UWTravelWise website is here, which includes further links to their new online travel "calculator" for employees to find the Per Diem rates based on where and when they are traveling
  • Their own outline of their travel policy changes is here
  • A letter to all Chancellors from UW System President Ray Cross providing the background and key points is here
  • Access to the current (prior to Oct. 5) policies for your comparison is here
For those of you who accept UW System employees and authorized travelers or who will accept them now following the Federal Lodging Per Diem Rates, it is well worth your while to review all of their resources, to be familiar with their expectations - both of their travelers, and of course what lodging properties can expect. These materials were intended primarily for UW System travelers, but they will impact you as well, and should be helpful in your planning.

Should you have further specific questions, the contact person mentioned in our Capitol Insider from Sept. 21 remains the same
