An Open Letter of Gratitude from Mr. Garrick

Dear friends;

I am writing today to express my sincere gratitude to the community of Saint Francis DeSales High School for the love and kindness that has been expressed on behalf of many throughout this academic year.  As has been the case in past years, members of our school family have faced unanticipated challenges.  And has been the case in past years, our community has once again enthusiastically embraced our call to bring the face of Christ to those in need.

And while Saint Francis DeSales High School has always been associated with a commitment to service there seems to be something very, very special about this year.  It is with this in mind that I felt it important to share my thoughts with our school family. In the months that have passed since school began, I have watched with tremendous pride as our community met the needs of families that were dealing with catastrophic illness, families that have grieved the unexpected loss of loved ones, and a family that was displaced from their home as a result of a devastating fire. And through each of these challenges there was a tangible spirit of love that engulfed those in need. To say I am proud to be associated with Saint Francis DeSales High School would be a profound understatement.

In recent days as I reflected on our year to date I could not help but see God's hand at work in all that we do.  How appropriate that our school has embarked on a Virtues program this year; moreover, the virtues of focus are "Charity" and "Piety." I cannot think of two more appropriate virtues to describe the essence of our school and community.  It is with this in mind that I say THANK YOU!!!

In closing, at a time when the world seems to be contentious and divided it is gratifying to know that our young people are surrounded by adults who truly understand that we are called to bring the love of Christ to all with whom we are blessed to interact.  Once again I say thank you for being the models of Christ's love for our students.

Peace and God's Blessings,
Dan Garrick
Principal
Saint Francis DeSales High School

  Eucharistic Adoration Online Sign Up Form

Friday, February 3, we will celebrate Eucharistic Adoration at the school. The day will begin with Mass at 7 a.m. in the chapel followed by Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament for the entire school day. Eucharistic Adoration will close with Benediction at approximately 2:45 p.m . We would like to invite parents to sign up for a holy hour during the day to come and pray for the students, faculty, and staff. If you care to just drop in and make a visit to the chapel during the day, you may do that as well.

Contact Bill or Mary Beth Hinger at bill.hinger@gmail.com or call 614-560-1555 with any questions.

The intention of the upcoming Eucharistic Adoration is to pray for the members of our senior class as they discern their final post-secondary education plans, and in light of growing divisiveness in our world may our Church serve as a sanctuary for those who are fleeing political or religious persecution.
