High School Seniors Can Apply NOW
For The "Classics Eagle CARES" Scholarship
 
The Classics Eagles CARES Scholarship is available for application for any high school senior who has at some time played at least two years with the Classics Eagles, and is attending college in 2017.  This will be the second year the scholarship will be awarded.  Last year, Katie Exline, now attending Otterbein University, received the inaugural scholarship.

The scholarship is administered through the Delaware County Foundation and applications are evaluated by an independent committee. For more information, or to apply, CLICK HERE. 
 
Classics Eagles To Host FC Barcelona 2017 Summer Camp at Liberty Park!   

FC Barcelona recently revealed the date and location for the 2017 FCB Escola Soccer Camp to be held in Columbus. The camp will take place at  Liberty Park, July 3-7 , with the support of Classics Eagles.  Boys and girls between the ages of 6 and 16 will have the opportunity to learn the same successful methodologies from which players such as Messi, Iniesta, and Xavi have emerged.

Official coaches from FC Barcelona will come exclusively to Columbus to conduct all the training sessions, and space is limited. The FC Barcelona Youth Academy is the most renowned academy in the world. From a young age, the players are taught the values and techniques of the unique Barça style.

A group of selected players from the camp will be invited to train in Barcelona at the FC Barcelona Headquarters.

ISL Futbol, the official partner of FC Barcelona in the United States, has partnered with Classics Eagles. to present this special event. Classics Eagles also has full access to a number of ISL Futbol Programs that have one main focus, youth development. Classics Eagles is the only club to affiliate with ISL Futbol in Central Ohio.

American Heart Month

Orthopedic ONE recognizes that in order for an athlete to function at their highest level, it is important to maintain good all-around health. Therefore, we are excited to celebrate American Heart Month! Each February, the American Heart Association capitalizes on the Valentine's Day holiday as an opportunity to promote the importance of living a healthy lifestyle and encouraging small changes that can lead to a lifetime of good heart health.
 
While many athletes pride themselves as being in overall good health, American Heart Month is also an opportune time to learn about some of the heart conditions common among athletes:
  • Sudden Cardiac Death (SCD) is the leading non-traumatic cause of death among young athletes.
  • The precise incidence of SCD among high school athletes is unknown, but estimates range from 1 in 23,000 to 1 in 300,000.
  • SCD in athletes can be caused by a variety of cardiovascular diseases, but is most commonly associated with congenital or acquired malformations.
  • Orthopedic ONE requires the completion of pre-participation screening forms by all Classics Eagles athletes in an effort to improve detection of cardiac abnormalities and minimize the risks associated with athletic participation. Based on the findings from the pre-participation questionnaire, athletes may be referred for further evaluation and testing if appropriate.
