Eagle Scout Luke Evans

Congratulations to Garces Ram Luke Evans on earning the rank of Eagle Scout!  The Eagle Scout rank is the culmination of a boy's Scouting career. Requirements to become an Eagle Scout include earning at least 21 merit badges and a service project for a nonprofit organization. For his project, Luke led a crew of 18 people and put in 209 hours working at a local organization known as LiFT (Living in Fellowship Together).  LiFT is a local non-profit that helps needy people in Oildale with weekly free meals and showers and twice weekly homework clubs for kids.  Luke and his crew worked from March until June to complete the service project.  They graded LiFT's backyard, put down weed barriers, installed plumbing, laid gravel, and built raised boxes for a vegetable garden. We are so proud of him and the difference he made in the lives of so many in our community.
