Artist Biography

I was born and raised in central Massachusetts. I worked most of my adult life in the insurance industry, as a Group Insurance Underwriter. This career took me from Massachusetts to Tennessee to Kansas. When my husband retired in September, 2007, we relocated to our retirement home in Murrells Inlet, SC. I continued to work for the same Kansas City company, until I retired in December, 2010.

For as long as I can remember I was the one behind the camera, preserving all the photographic memories from family parties and events, adventures with friends and travel. I am a self taught photographer, still learning something new every day. I LOVE photography. Now that I am retired, it is not unusual for me to spend hours at Huntington Beach or Brookgreen Gardens or Myrtle Beach Boardwalk, just taking pictures. I jump at the chance to travel someplace new and record my adventures.

I have become involved with the Seacoast Artists Guild of SC, and am a former Vice President on the Board of Directors, and currently a member of the Seacoast Artists Gallery Committee. I have successfully coordinated three show and sales and assisted with the creation and opening of a new Art Gallery at The Market Common in Myrtle Beach, SC. If you are ever in town, stop by and visit Seacoast Artists Gallery on Nevers Street and check out the artwork of 70+ local artists - including me!

Since moving to South Carolina, I have found a growing interest in flowers and critters, sunrises and sunsets, with images that are in abundance here in the Low Country. Recently I have branched out into more abstract images. I hope you enjoy my work and find a reason to smile when you look at my art. I'm smiling every time I can be behind that camera!

My art is currently displayed at the Seacoast Artists Gallery. I am also a member of CNPA - Carolina Nature Photographers Association-Myrtle Beach chapter and Waccamaw Arts & Crafts Guild.
