Want to assess and document the benefits of high-performing landscape projects? LAF is accepting applications for the next CSI program, which will run Feb - Aug 2017. Faculty Research Fellows lead this unique research collaboration and receive funding to support a student Research Assistant. Practitioners apply with specific projects and are selected based on the quality of the project, potential to produce comprehensive quantified benefits, and the firm's commitment to work with the research teams. Faculty Expressions of Interest are due Nov 11.
Applications from firms are due Nov 18.

Student Scholarships and Fellowships for 2017

LAF is proud to offer $61,500 in awards for the 2016-2017 academic year through 9 different scholarships and fellowships established by our generous sponsors. Eligible candidates are undergraduate or graduate students enrolled at colleges and universities in the U.S. and Canada. Additional requirements vary by scholarship/fellowship. Applications are due Feb 1 and 15, 2017.

Remarkable Objects Podcast: Quantifying the Landscape

The first episode of this new podcast from DeepRoot features LAF's Barbara Deutsch discussing the Landscape Performance Series, our online set of resources to help designers, agencies, and advocates evaluate performance, show value and make the case for sustainable landscape solutions. Hear about the thinking behind and evolution of this transformative initiative. Remarkable Objects is a new podcast about the intersection of nature and urban design.


LAF Executive Director Barbara Deutsch, FASLA has been recognized with one of Green Building & Design (gb&d)'s 2016 Women in Sustainability Leadership Awards. The awards celebrate the achievements of women who are making lasting change and strive to identify, support, and give opportunities to future women in leadership. The 15 winners were honored at a dinner held during the 2016 Greenbuild International Conference and Expo. Congratulations, Barbara!
