Community Development and
Community Action Day in Annapolis
February 8, 2017

Thanks to the over 200 of you for joining us!

What a great event!

Here are some highlights:

Over 60 people came to visit their legislators. Here is a photo of participants from organizations such as Ocean City Development Corp., Dorchester County, SHORE UP! and others meeting with Delegate Mary Beth Carozza from the Eastern Shore (she's in the blue dress in the middle). Participants from around the state visited their legislators and talked about our legislative priorities and told their own stories of success.

During the Community Development Showcase, 25 organizations came to display their work, so Senators, Delegates, and others could learn about them. Above, we see the booth from Frederick Community Action (left), Habitat for Humanity of the Chesapeake (right), and Baltimore Transit Equity Coalition (bottom). Others represented include Montgomery County Community Action, Garrett County Community Action, Arundel Community Development Services, Housing Initiative Partnership and many more!

We met Angela Martin, (in the pink blouse), the new Executive Director of the Maryland Community Action Partnership!

Our speakers during the lunch program included Maryland DHCD Secretary Kenneth Holt (top left),  House Appropriations Chairwoman Maggie McIntosh (top right),  House Environment and Transportation Committee Chairman Kumar Barve (middle left),  Land Use and Ethics SubCommittee Chair Steve Lafferty (middle right),  Vice Chair of the Senate Budget and Taxation Committee Richard Madaleno and Housing and Real Property Subcommittee Chair Marvin Holmes (in the bottom photo, Madaleno is speaking and Delegate Holmes is looking on while standing next to CDN's Executive Director Odette Ramos). Each is working on very specific legislation for us and talked about the HOME Act, the Budget, Community Development Fund, sick leave bill and more.  We are honored to have such great legislative partners!

Look at this crowd!

Thanks again everyone!
