Frequently Asked Questions

Can Camp Zeke accommodate my family's dietary requirements?
Absolutely! Camp Zeke is nut free, meaning that they don't serve peanuts, tree nuts, peanut butter or any products containing nuts. Camp Zeke does use coconut products in their kitchen, along with various seeds, including sesame and sunflower. Camp Zeke chefs cater to all types of dietary requirements. Whether you're gluten free, nut free, lactose intolerant, or vegan, they will go out of their way to create delicious options at every meal. If your family has special dietary requirements, note your requirements on the registration form and we will be in touch with you.

Will my family be comfortable?
Of course! Comfortable and heated accommodations are one of the reasons that the planning committee chose Camp Zeke as our Shabbaton destination. Families will have a variety of room options available, based on family size and preference, whether bunked or separate bedding. The price per person is based on double occupancy. Connected rooms are optional. Rooms feature private bathrooms. If the weather is cool, the central heating system will be turned on in each building. Guests may adjust the thermostats in the rooms themselves.

What will my children do at the camp?
This is a family Shabbat for everyone. Activities are being planned for all grades in the spirit of Shabbat and to accommodate the various age groups. High school students will have their own lounge and quiet study area. As we get closer to the weekend we will share more of what is planned. If you have a special skill or would like to lead an activity during the weekend, please let us know.

What happens if it rains? Will we have things to do?
No problem! We have thought of that and planned alternate fun activities for possible rainy weather. Camp Zeke has a variety of indoor spaces that we will use, including meeting rooms, lounges and studios.

Can my family attend even if we receive tuition assistance?
Yes! According to SSLI's Executive Director, Eileen Bohrer, any family who applies or receives tuition assistance will not be penalized by their participation in the Shabbaton. We encourage all Schechter families to celebrate as a community at the Shabbaton.

Can I pay in installments?
Definitely! Please contact us to set up an installment payment plan.
