DHS and NCJW announce Project Prom partnership

The Allegheny County Department of Human Services (DHS) has announced a new partnership with the National Council of Jewish Women (NCJW) to operate Project Prom out of NCJW’s Thriftique resale shop in Lawrenceville.
DHS unveils Client View

Providers and clients alike will now be able to view person-specific information contained in the  Department of Human Services’ (DHS) Data Warehouse through Client View, an externally accessible, internet-based application
Youth end the year in high spirits thanks to Holiday Project sponsors, donors and volunteers

Christmas music and holiday movie favorites provided a festive atmosphere at the Office of Community Relations’ (OCR) Holiday Project Workshop in Forest Hills, where staff volunteers gathered to select and package gifts designed to delight local youth.
Pajama donation offers comfort to CYF youth

In excess of 800 new pajamas were donated to the DHS Office of Children, Youth and Families (CYF), thanks to the generosity of Forest Grove Elementary students, parents and faculty
DHS promotes resources for National Self-Help Awareness Month

While the new year is often a time when many people are focused on improving their physical and financial health, the Department of Human Services is working to ensure that optimal mental health also remains a consideration
KEYS Service Corps

This month, KEYS Service Corps participated in its annual Martin Luther King Jr. Day celebration by presenting two events. On Sunday, January 15, KEYS members held the fifth annual MLK Sunday Supper, hosting more than 40 attendees at the Human Services Building for dinner, conversation and a viewing of the documentary Paper Tigers. The next day, 55 KEYS members volunteered at the Greater Pittsburgh Community Food Bank, where Governor Tom Wolf and County Executive Rich Fitzgerald were also volunteering.
