Each of you must give as you have made up your mind, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver.

Dear fpcw family and friends,

The earthly Jesus was a 'Eucharistic Man'! Meaning:
he offered "thanks" at all times and under all circumstances. The word 'eucharistia' means thanks giving. (Holy Communion, the Eucharist, is a thank offering!)

As a Jesus-follower, I try to emulate Jesus' pattern of thanks-giving. Jesus offers thanks to God, his heavenly father for sustaining him; he offers thanks for his closest traveling companions; he offered thanks for each person he encountered along the path of his ministry; he offered thanks for his earthly family; and thanks to God for each new day.

And, now, as I conclude my ministry as your 'bridge-interim,' I offer my sincere and heart-felt thanks to you as a faith community, and to YOU as a Jesus-follower. God has blessed me with this opportunity to walk alongside of you these past six months. I  especially thank the staff, who has been so very hospitable, welcoming and supporting during this time. They, like you have tolerated my 'ministry mantra' : to comfort the afflicted and to afflict the comfortable. I fervently and faithfully believe that God has great plans for you: individually and as a church.

My sincere thanks and prayers,
Steve Pierce
