Four Nashua Catholic Junior High School students were honored by a very special, surprise visit during their lunch period, on Friday, February 3. A team from Bishop Guertin High School was there to present some prestigious awards. The visiting team from BG included its president, Mrs. Linda Brodeur; its principal, Mr. Jason Strniste; the Head of the Brothers of the Sacred Heart at BG, Brother Larry Beaunoyer; Administrative Assistant to the President, Mrs. Joan McCabe; two
cheerleaders and NC alumnae from the class of 2014, Merrimac Moran and Nicole Petry; and the BG Cardinal mascot. Grace Bellavance, daughter of Joe and Cail Bellavance, was the first to be honored as the first Nashua Catholic student to be accepted to Bishop Guertin for the class of 2021. Next, three students were honored for being the three top scorers on the BG High School Entrance Exam. Amelia Ballingall, daughter of Keith and Pamela Ballingall from Manchester, achieved the highest score. Tying for the second highest score were Randal Brown, son of Drs. Jeffrey Brown and Lisa Scheib of Merrimack, and Molly Graybill, daughter of Robert and Katie Graybill of Amherst. All three students received the Principal's Award and merit scholarships for this impressive achievement.

The Inventive Thinking Project |
The 8th grade students at NCRJHS will be participating in a special school project through the Young Inventors' Program® School Invention Convention. It will combine many of the skills that s/he has been learning in the areas of science, language, writing, and math. The Inventive Thinking Project is a school activity, which promotes analytical and creative thinking and problem solving. Each group will develop an original idea for a Rube Goldberg® invention and take it from an idea, to a completed project. They will design an invention and build a working model of it. This project is important because it gives each student an opportunity to solve a real problem. On Wednesday, March 8, 2017 , from 6:30p.m. to 8:00 P.M. Nashua Catholic Regional Junior High School will hold a Young Inventors' Program® School Invention Convention; a special event to display the student's creative efforts. You will be surprised and delighted by the many new and creative Rube Goldberg® contraptions the students develop. Please save the date!

Athletics - Wildcat Update for February
What a month it has been here at Nashua Catholic. With, what seems
like, an entire winter's worth of
snow being dumped in a single week, the schedules were a little crazy, but all in a good way! February
has already been a tremendous month for our Wildcat athletes as we have brought many trophies back
to our cases!
February marks the beginning of the annual New Hampshire CYO Catholic Schools Tournament hosted
here at Nashua Catholic. Although the weather tried to slow us down a bit, our amazing community
pulled together to put on another fantastic tournament. A big thank you to all of our volunteers!! Both
our boys and girls basketball teams were competing and we are very happy to say that both of our
Wildcat basketball teams came away with the State Championship! Go Wildcats!
February is also the heat of competition season for the Wildcat
cheerleaders. In their first official
competition of the winter season our girls attended Cheer Madness at Nashua North and earned First
Place!! The team may be small in numbers compared to other years, but this team is full of talent and
spirit. Our cheerleaders will take the mat once again on Saturday, February 18 at Pinkerton Academy for
the Astroblast competition.
With the end of dual meets, our Wildcat wrestlers have moved on to their big end-of- the-year
tournaments. The wrestling team just recently competed in the Middle School Divisionals at Rundlett
Middle School and had 6 wrestlers place and qualify for this year's Meet of Champions. Wrestlers
moving on include Jesse Brochu, Liam Finn, Sam Sirois, Richie Ronzio, Zach Dion, and Evangeline
Rockwell.

HELP WANTED!
Spring sports are just around the corner and Nashua Catholic still has a few coaching opportunities available!
Head and Assistant(s) Track and Field Coach The head coach would work with the athletes to better their form, endurance, speed, power, or jumps during practices and meets. Practices are typically right after school from 3-4:15 P.M. either four or five times a week. Without an actual track on site, the coaches can utilize local neighborhood roads for runs of various lengths, along with the NC grounds for throwing and jumping events. The head coach would also be responsible for placing
athletes in their designated events and entering them into the meets throughout the season. Coaches may also be asked to lead certain events at meet locations to help with the timely flow of larger meets.
Softball Assistant Coach We are looking to fill the position of assistant coach for our Wildcat softball team. Duties would include helping Coach Carew with lineups, scorekeeping, drills, and running occasional practices. Softball is typically at least 3 or 4 times a week, with games on Tuesdays and Thursdays.
Head Golf Coach Nashua Catholic is looking to fill the head coaching vacancy for our competitive golf season. Practices consist of practice rounds on course at Green Meadow, driving range time at Green Meadow, or driving range practices at Golf and Ski Warehouse in Tyngsboro. Head coach is also tasked with helping to transport athletes and equipment to practices and matches.
If interested, please send an electronic copy of your resume to Mr. Ryan Farris at [email protected] or at (603) 882-7011.
