This Sunday our worship includes a practice now in wide use in the Episcopal Church and beyond.   The way of worship originated in a joint Protestant and Catholic monastic community that formed on the French/Swiss border after World War II. The community had a special mission to heal the ravages of war.  Now the community is a major pilgrimage center and the way of worship is part of the practice of many churches.

Sung Bible verses join with meditations in a way that is simple and accessible. The patterns of repetition invite prayer and praise.

The Worship Committee meets Wed. Feb.15 at 4:00 pm.  We will review our current practices and prepare for Lent.

  Yours faithfully,
  Dan+

Living Local: Joining God
How do we go on a shared journey in discerning what the Spirit is doing ahead of us in our neighborhoods and communities in order to join God in those places?

Where do we find God in our neighborhoods?

Recently, Melanie Lee and Paul Beaudette attended a Diocesan workshop to help our parish explore this very topic of going into our communities where God is and listening to the people in these communities.

Thirteen parishes in the Diocese are participating in this. It is a valuable learning experience in listening from the heart besides the head. What do we actually hear when people are talking. How do we hear without judgment or bias? God is talking to us through other people. What is he telling us?

If you'd like to be a part of this journey, please contact either Melanie or Paul.
