Roxbury High School Wrestling Update:
North Jersey Section 1, Group 4 Wrestling Preview
SEEDS : 1- Mendham ; 2- West Morris ; 3- Roxbury ; 4- Mount Olive ; 5- Wayne Valley ; 6- Randolph ; 7- Fair Lawn ; 8- Morris Knolls

CONTENDERS: All signs point to a final featuring both schools from the West Morris School District. Top-seeded Mendham is trying to win its first sectional title in school history while West Morris is looking for its second overall and first since 1988. Roxbury, meanwhile, is hoping to play spoiler as the No. 3 seed and win its third consecutive title. In its regular-season win over West Morris, Mendham won nine bouts en route to a 37-19 win. West Morris has a head-to-head win over Roxbury and also picked off High Point in a 31-28 victory in December. This is a section with several well-balanced teams that should come down to individual match-ups.

NJSIAA wrestling underway
Can the Roxbury wrestling team win its fourth straight sectional championship? Will Hanover Park rebound and win its section once again? Does Mendham have enough to win the first sectional crown in school history?

Semifinals will be held Wednesday, with the sectional finals scheduled for Friday night at the better seed. Group championships will be contested at Toms River North High School Sunday.

All of our teachers are trained professional musicians and highly qualified in their instrument of expertise. Private study is extremely valuable to the individual student and highly encouraged. Private study is offered as enrichment, NOT remedial instruction. It is encouraged for the complete development of each students' potential as a performing musician and/or artist.

We are beginning mid-year registrations for those students interested in taking private lesson. Once the form and registration fee are received, your child will be assigned a weekly lesson time.

Accents on Dance Upcoming Programs

Hip Hop Dance After School

Hip Hop is an eclectic street style of dance that is performed in running shoes to current upbeat tempos. The dynamic moves taught in Hip Hop class are fast, stylish, funky and similar to those seen in music videos.

This class is appropriate for high energy dancers that are driven by a beat. Similar to a Jazz class, Hip Hop is broken down into 3 parts - warm up, corner work/technique and choreography. Students in a Hip Hop class will work on their strength, flexibility, and musicality through intricate fun and fast paced funky choreography.

Since the tempos are usually quicker than any other dance form, the choreography in a Hip Hop class provides a great cardio workout and is also a fun way to exercise the mind and memory.

(Children should wear comfortable clothes and sneakers to class)

Date:   Throughout the 2016/2017 School Year
Time: After-School at the Designated School
Location: Franklin and Jefferson Elementary Schools
Cost: $75 per child
