Call to Serve
Are you interested in Sedgwick County and community engagement?  During my campaign, I decided to create a citizens advisory board (CAB) once I became elected.  I am looking for seven to ten citizens who reside in District 3 to serve on a newly created advisory board. My goal for the board is to meet monthly, in the evenings, and discuss County business. I want to hear from you!  Some training will be required to serve on the board. The CAB will also develop the bylaws, and elect a chair and vice chair.

The main function of the board is to provide input on a variety of topics such as planning and zoning in District 3, local traffic concerns, upcoming County projects, and services.

If you are interested in taking part in this great opportunity, please let me know.

Chisholm Trail Celebrates 150 Years
Commissioners recognized a proclamation earlier this year honoring the Chisolm Trail and its contribution to the development of the Sedgwick County region, the State, and the American West. Volunteers who received the proclamation shared their passion for the trail and wore period appropriate attire during the meeting.  For more information about celebrations and history of the Chisolm Trail, click here
Commissioners Recognize School Choice Week
National School Choice Week celebrates the diversity in school choices available to parents. Sedgwick County has a number of public, magnet, charter, and nonpublic schools that offer exceptional educational opportunities for parents and students.  School Choice Week was January 22 to 28, 2017.  The Board of County Commissioners recognized this through a proclamation on January 18. Pastor Wade Moore, Jr. of Wichita Urban Preparatory Academy accepted the proclamation.
