Ever wonder what it would be like to play in a tournament at one of the Rochester area's top private courses?

Ever wonder how you would react under tournament conditions?

Returning to the 2017 RDGA Tournament Schedule are the popular RDGA Play Days ; events open to ALL amateur golfers - men and women, ages 18 and above - with an active USGA GHIN Handicap Index through the Rochester District Golf Association . If you've never played in an actual golf tournament before - or if you've always wanted to play some of the best courses in the area - then RDGA Play Days are for you!   
 
RDGA Play Days are designed to be a fun, yet competitive day for golfers of all ability levels. Registration for Play Day events is $85 per person and includes use of the club's practice facility; a cart and 18 holes of stroke play at 100-percent handicap; as well as prizes by flight and hors d'ouvres after the tournament. Contestants are welcome to request pairing in foursomes with friends who are also registered to play. Flights include Men's White Tees, Men's Gold Tees and Women's Red Tees; prizes will be awarded to the top finishers in each flight, in the form of Pro Shop gift certificates at the host club.

RDGA DELEGATE FOR 2017

You like playing in RDGA Tournaments. You have a USGA Handicap Index through the RDGA. Perhaps you are interested in supporting the local golf community.
 
If you can identify with any of these phrases, then YOU might be a perfect candidate to become an RDGA Club Delegate for the 2017 season!
 
Right now, several RDGA Member Clubs are looking to fill their rosters for male and female RDGA Delegates for the upcoming golf season. RDGA Club Delegates fill an important role in the local golfing community, acting as a liaison between their club and the RDGA. RDGA Club Delegates have a strong interest in growing the game of golf and member participation in golf related events. Delegates collaborate with the RDGA and their club regarding tournaments, clinics, special events and other golf related activities.

In December of 2016, 16 players met in California  John "Spider" Miller for an informal practice session with Captain ahead of the 2017 Walker Cup Matches. Among those who participated was Rochester native and three-time RDGA Championship winner Gavin Hall, currently ranked 19th in the World Amateur Golf Rankings. REGISTRATION UNDER WAY FOR 2017
DRIVE, CHIP & PUTT QUALIFIERS
  
SCHEDULE INCLUDES LOCAL QUALIFIER
at GENESEE VALLEY; TWO MORE in WNY
 
Registration for the 2018 Drive, Chip & Putt Championship officially opened this week - with a local qualifier scheduled for Genesee Valley on June 30. Junior golfers - boys and girls, ages 7 to 15 - from all over the country will be competing for the chance to go to Augusta National for the finals in 2018.

Registration is now under way for the 2018 Drive, Chip and Putt Championship - open to boys and girls, ages 7 to 15 - including the 2017 local qualifying schedule for the program's fifth year. The schedule includes dates and locations for participants to play in local qualifiers across the country with the opportunity to advance and earn an invitation to next year's National Finals at Augusta National Golf Club.

In the Rochester area, Genesee Valley Golf Course will host a Local Drive, Chip & Putt Qualifier for the second consecutive year, on June 30. Additionally, there will be two other opportunities for area juniors to qualify - at the Fox Valley Club in Lancaster on July 13 and 20. Juniors who do qualify at any of the Local Qualifiers will advance to the Subregional Qualifier at the Turning Stone Resort on August 16. From there, qualifying juniors advance to the Regional Qualifier at Winged Foot Golf Club on October 1.

REMINDER: OFFICIAL RDGA SCORE
POSTING NOW OVER FOR 2016
   
A reminder that the Rochester District Golf Association's  local score posting season has officially ended for 2016. RDGA members can begin posting local scores for the 2017 season
on April 15 - but it is important to note that members who play in active areas outside the RDGA between November 1 and April 15 must still post those scores.
