Affordable Housing Systems
The Partnership for Better Health is pleased to announce a new funding opportunity to improve access to affordable housing and reduce the occurrence of homelessness in our region.

Through this new Request for Proposals (RFP) we seek to advance systems change strategies that are comprehensive in nature and designed to improve leading aspects of how our region's housing systems work. Rather than tackle issues one program or service at a time, we aim to mobilize systemic strategies that will engage multiple partners in shared goals and planning to impact a larger population. The intent is for these efforts to result in lasting changes that ease the burden on frontline organizations and benefit vulnerable people in need of affordable housing.

Through this new RFP, the Partnership seeks to fund one project at up to $100,000 per year, for up to three years, and one project at up to $40,000 per year for three years. Collaborative teams with significant experience in meeting the housing, shelter and social service needs of vulnerable community members in our region are encouraged to select a lead organization and apply jointly. Proposals are due on April 20, 2017 to the Partnership for Better Health. Additional details are shared in the Request for Proposals on our website.

Seeking Communications Firms to Address Opiate Epidemic
Recognizing the devastating toll that the opiate epidemic is having in our communities, the Partnership for Better Health is announcing a new Request for Proposals to engage a communications firm in addressing the epidemic in Cumberland and Perry Counties.

In the fall of 2016, Partnership for Better Health and the Cumberland-Perry County Drug & Alcohol Commission joined with the Pennsylvania Medical Society and many others to convene a regional Task Force on Opiate Prescribing that is exploring effective ways of engaging the health care community in curbing the epidemic. The task force seeks assistance in piloting a robust physician communications campaign that strives to change the culture and practice of pain management by increasing the use of best practices in pain management, drug prevention and addiction treatment referrals.

Communications firms with significant expertise in developing health-related campaigns that support the work of busy health care providers are encouraged to apply. Project budgets are expected to range between $30,000 and $50,000. Proposals are due on April 28, 2017 to the Partnership for Better Health. Additional details and application instructions are available in the Request for Proposals on our website.
