General Meeting - March 3rd "How We Manage Our Forests"

Makenzie Leine, a Registered Professional Forester, has a Bachelor of Science in Forest Business Management from the University of Alberta, a Diploma in Residential Planning, and is the Manager of Community and Government Relations at Island Timberlands.
She comes highly recommeded both as a speaker and as an expert in her field; she will give us a most informative talk about BC's most vital industry.

February Speaker: Gail Sherson: Update on Pulp and Paper Industry in BC

It was a dark and snowy day; so much so that our scheduled speaker was stuck in Nanaimo and 40 members who braved the weather to attend the meeting were stuck without a speaker!
Fortunately for us, PROBUS member and chemical engineer, Gail Sherson, volunteered to give an impromptu talk to our group. We were treated to a fascinating presentation on what is happening right now in, and also the future of, the pulp and paper industry in BC.

Along with the many "Out & About" events available to members of our PROBUS Club, the Club has established a number of "Special Interest Groups". These include book clubs, wine-tasting clubs, a whisky-tasting group, and an up-and-coming TED Talk Discussion Group.
