CONFERENCE UPDATE 21 Feb 2017

Abstract submission Final Reminder
 and Icebreaker Reception

For so long a date in the far distance, the final day to submit a presentation Abstract to the Island Invasives conference is now just a week away.

At midnight GMT on Tuesday, February 28th, the virtual guillotine will brutally cut off the aspirations of those who were a little too relaxed about the deadline , and will at the same time propel all received Abstracts into the review process.

A consideration of reviewers  (can you think of a better collective noun?) is standing by to receive and promptly assess the Abstracts, and we hope to develop a conference programme before the end of March. Soon after this, authors will be informed of the date, time and type (talk/poster) of their presentation.

Please note that you will need to register for the conference before submitting an Abstract (and in addition you need to register for Abstract submission).

If you wish to attend the magnificent Conference Dinner and Ceilidh at Glamis Castle on Wednesday July 12th, please book and pay for your ticket at the same time.

Do come along to meet old friends and new, and enjoy complimentary drinks and food aboard this magnificent ship.

Best wishes to all,

Tony Martin (Programme Chair) and Alison Neil (Local organisation Chair)

About the Island Invasives Conference, 2017
This will be the third in a series of international conferences focussed on invasive alien species (IAS) on islands, their impact and management. It follows those held in Auckland, New Zealand, in  2001 and 2010* . The Dundee conference will therefore be the first such meeting for seven years, and the first to be held in the northern hemisphere.
