NAP Podiatric Medicine Founder Continues His Work

Dr. Arthur Helfand, one of the Founders of the NAP Podiatric Medicine Academy, continues to educate on interdisciplinary health care despite retiring over a decade ago in 2002. He authored the chapter on the foot for the 6th Edition of Hazzard's Geriatric Medicine and Gerontology which was published in 2009. And just recently, he updated this chapter for the 7th Edition which has just been published by McGraw Hill. His co-author is Jeffrey M. Robbins, DPM who serves as the Director of Podiatry for the Department of Veterans Affairs.

This marked Dr. Helfand's 405th publication and 147th text chapter in the last sixty years.

Bernadette Mazurek Melnyk,  PhD, RN, CPNP/PMHNP, FAANP, FNAP, FAAN, has been promoted to Vice President for Health Promotion and reappointed for a 5-year term as Dean of the College of Nursing and University Chief Wellness Officer at The Ohio State University.
